Animal News Now TV

Two pilot episodes of the hilarious new digital show for kids, Animal News Now, is set to begin airing on December 16th at www.cbc.ca/parents.

This latest project by WBM is hosted by a child news anchor and their trusty talking canine sidekick. ANN is a digital “newscast” full of stories about animals, told by animals and aimed at the kids who love them.

The newscasts cover everything from breaking stories, to fashion, sports, food reviews and entertainment news.  All right from the horse’s mouth… and the dog’s… and the gerbil’s and the llama’s.  Because on ANN, animals can talk and boy, do they have a lot to say!

Using comedic voice-overs to animate the animals and hear their stories, viewers get a glimpse into the secret world of animals from the backyard to the barnyard and all pastures in between.

Viewers will be able to go to www.cbc.ca/parents to view the two pilot episodes and then vote on their favourite news team.  Will it be Emerson and her very hairy co-host Ruckus or host Asher and his class-act canine companion Harley who get to take the series to air?  ANN is set to win the hearts of kids, parents and pets throughout the country.

Anna & Kristina’s Grocery Bag

“Wallner and Matisic’s easygoing performances have cultivated an audience that wants no-nonsense advice about merchandise. But their comedy is a bonus as they await the pass-or-fail remarks from the chef, who can only laugh.”
– Vancouver Province

In Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag, the test-driving twosome from The Shopping Bags narrow their focus to the kitchen and put cookbooks to the test. In each episode, Anna and Kristina try out and review recipes, ingredients, appliances and food prep techniques to see if the average cook can re-create the beautifully-photographed meals. At the end of the show, a guest chef or food expert gives a final evaluation of the meal and Anna & Kristina decide if the cookbook really delivers the goods.

Premiered: September 2008

Produced for W Network (Canada) and Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada)
